Hey guys,

I've just started playing with the advanced searching in emplode. Pretty neat stuff. When I do a refs=0, it lists all the stuff that I've uploaded to the empeg using the new 2.0 software. Is this normal or a bug/side effect of me dragging and dropping folders into the "Playlists" view?

Basically I do this to create a new playlist:

Create "New Playlist" as the Artist name
Underneath the new playlist I created, I drag and drop my folder of mp3's of that artist. I then tweak the order and sync up. Is this somehow creating duplicate files on my empeg that is being shown by the refs=0 search? Is it safe for me just to nuke all those files in there, assuming they actually ARE in a playlist?

Or am I misunderstanding refs=0? :)

Thanks!

Hmmm...that really shouldn't happen. If you search for "refs=0" you should get only tracks that aren't in playlists. The only thing I suggest you you make sure it's all lower-case (not Refs=0 or REFS=0) as that will pull up all tracks on the player. That particular search is case sensitive.

One more thing...

If you right click the column name list at the top, you can selecl "Columns.." and choose which columns to display. One of those is "Refs". Enable that and see what values are in that column.

nope, I'm using refs=0, just like the subject says.. ;)

(been a unix user for over 10 years now... I know about case sensitivity.. :) )

It _should_ only list those things that aren't in playlists. Try this:

1. Drop the MP3 files into a playlist.
2. Don't sync yet.
3. Search for "new". You should get all of your new stuff.
4. Search for "refs=0". You shouldn't get any of your new stuff.
5. Combine those two searches to see if you can narrow it down.

Hmm, I can't reproduce the behaviour you describe. Seems OK here...
