Okay I knwo this is a dumb question but....

is it easy to move the sled from one car to another? I have a 2001 Jetta now but will probably be using a different car in college, or after college, so I want to take the sled with me when I go. Can you take it out and reinstall it in another car - I mean there's the whole bending the metal tabs thing... sorry, I'm new to car audio. Thanks

If it's just bending metal tabs, it's quite easy. At least, it's easier than if it were bolted in somehow.
I'd be cautious that you don't repeat this operation too often as teh metal tabs may wear and break off. If you were going to do this regularly, I'd consider a way to bolt it in. there would be minimal stress on the sled itself then.

The sled isn't the hard part. The wiring and amplifier connections in the new car are the hard part. If you had a professional install the sled in the Jetta, then you probably need a professional to install the sled in the new car as well.

Nope, I did this one myself (with another head unit too)... so it shouldn't be a problem.

depends if this is going to be a one off thing or not, if you install in your Jetta, then move it just once, it should be ok. However if you were going to repeat moving vice versa, you're just better off ordering another Mounting dock from the online store.

Not if you have ISO connectors at in both cars
