Okay I posted about this in Bug Reports but there is some new information to report. My playlists are *gone*. My playlists menu is empty. This is after having a corrupt database a couple days ago. As per Roger's instructions, I deleted the files "database" "tags" and "playlists" on the player and when the database rebuilt, everything looked good. But this morning when I fired up my Empeg, no playlists. So I tried that strategy again but this time my playlists are still gone. It re-creates the three files, but my playlists menu still says "none" and no playlists are in Emplode.

What the heck is going on with my player?

HELP!!!

Just by chance do you have a two-drive player, and the second drive is only working intermittently?

Well it seems /drive1 isn't mounting. When I try to mount it I get:

mount: /dev/hdc4 is not a valid block device

Yet my music seems to be playing fine, despite my lack of playlists. I know at least some of my music was on /drive1 but I don't know which tunes were there...

This is not looking good at all.

Yet Another Dodgy Cable.

Somehow the connector on /drive1 had worked its way loose. I put it back in place (and taped it there for good measure) and things look good. I had never had /drive1 fail before (before it was /drive0) so I didn't recognize these symptoms. I guess I'll know next time...

Thank to Mr. Fabris for his help on a Friday night.

No problem. Glad I could help. Now I'll have to add this to the FAQ.
