I got an e-mail today from Jim @ SB (thanks for that e-mail address, rtundo) saying he'd have someone look into my price-guarantee refund request right away, and then shortly after that, an e-mail arrived indicating that a refund was processed today.

The refund was for $400USD, which is better than nothing, but not the $600USD he said would be refunded.

Is that a compromise on their part, or an error? Has anyone else had a refund processed and been refunded the full difference?

Should I just be happy (it does take the sting out of having ordered just before the big drop) or should I follow up?

Jim @ SB acknowledged and corrected the error the next day. Woohoo!

Jim was right on it. Took less than a day to get $500 back. Excellent service!

Congrats, FogDuck. Good to hear you got the matter corrected. I normally don't quibble about rebates, but that's a lot of $.
