So now that we are in the EOL lifestage of the software, is there any hope that there might be a feature in a future beta that would allow the weatherband enabled tuners to actually recieve this info?

I just checked my tuner and found that it has a red label, meaning that it is weatherband capable.

This come from this post Here

Mine has a red label as well...
This would be beyond cool.
The Empeg just keeps on giving.
and I'm sure as the developer comunity keeps growing, so will the new "never intended" feature list.

I'd use weatherband if it was an option.
Anybody in the independent empeg development community feel like tackling it?

Interesting. I wonder what the actual receive range is.
I wonder if it can get the Ham radio 144-148s as
well, if it can do the 15x US Weatherbands... Hmmm..
And most local constabularies are RIGHT next door
to weather on 15x.xx

DEFinately need to get better specs on the tuner.

just so you know, statments from the software developers are that we are NOT in EOL of the software.. the empeg guys care very much about the software on the empeg, and plan to continue developing new features over time.

what we are at is the HARDWARE EOL of the current player model..

as far as weatherband would go, I have yet to see a full spec sheet on the radio tuner module.. I hadn't thought about taking my tuner apart when I got it, and now it's snuggled in behind my dashboard.. oh well.

Well, we may not be in EOL for the whole player software but we are in the EOL stage of software for EMPEG specific hardware, such as the tuner.

I think all that would be needed would be a software change allowing us to enter a weatheband freq.

A long time ago, in a thread far, far away... Winradio

AM, FM, Weatherband, and everything in between - and it runs on 12 volts! Perhaps this alternative to the tuner module might again be worthy of consideration by those with the linux programming skills.
