When i try to install Emplode 2.0b7, I get "The msiexec.exe file is linked to missing export msi.dl:222" I'm running Win98SE with Windows Installer 1.1 (the newest version on Microsoft's site). Any idea what could be wrong?

Personally, I think this whole "Microsoft Installer" stuff is awful. I much prefer the older releases of InstallShield that are fully self-contained. I have tried to convince the empeg guys that it's better to use the older version of InstallShield, but they have their reasons for using MSI.

I too had the identical problem today, for the first time. On Windows 2000 Pro, SP2.

Ok I tried both solutions (well, basically 1 is contained in 2), unsuccessfully. This is bad, I can't install emplode on my pc in the office! This is the first time that happened to me. I installed on WIn2k Server and professional at home, WinXP Pro, and now on this FRESH, newly installed win2k pro there's no way I can proceed. After doing what said in the links you posted, now I don't get any error. Simply installation stops and get the message sayin that it was interrupted, windows was not modified, and to retry.

and you're sure the downloaded copy of emplode is "good"?

That's going to be good. Anyway unfortunately in my case that copy of emplode had been used before successfully, so I believe it got corrupted on my hdd for some reason I am still investigating. So I did not even consider that could be the problem. Thanks again for suggesting it to me!
