I wanted to pick up a battery for the Rio remote on my way home and forgot to check the model number before I left for work. Would one of you kind souls let me know? I wicked appreciate it.

Actually, the number is a reference to the dimensions.
CR2025 is 20mm diameter and 2.5 mm thickness. A CR1616 for example (which is used in some car alarm remotes) would be 16mm diameter and 1.6mm thick.

Thanks everybody - off to Radio Shack - gotta see the greasy haired pimply faced kid with the too short tie and the "electronics are beyond most people" attitude. Always fun. It'll be fun telling him what its for (a car mp3 player that holds 1200 CD's!!!) and watch him try to figure that out.

Thanks folks

Unfortunately, electronics are usually beyond most Radio Shack employees.

"Radio Shack. You've got questions, we've got blank stares."

Yeah, I might learn something new every day but I forget something old much more often than that

Some time ago -- I think Hugo was building the prototype tuner board, and needed some parts urgently -- I went into Maplin in Cambridge to get them.
It was quite amusing watching the guy behind the counter try to figure out what I was building, considering that I was only in there to get maybe 10% of the parts. I get the feeling that even if I'd been buying the whole lot, he'd not have figured it out.
