I have(had), 1.02 firmware on my 10gb mk2a. Over the last month or so, it has locked up 3 times. When it locks up, there is no audio, no movement on the display. The buttons and dial do nothing. The only way to fix it is to take the unit out, and stick it back in. After this reboot, it works fine. All three times it locked up, I wasn't touching the unit at the time. Just listening. I don't think it was the mp3 files, as I believe they were songs I have listened to before on the riocar. What I need to know if this is a know bug with the 1.02 firmware?

I am in the process of upgrading to 1.03, but I need to know if 1.02 had a lockup bug. I tried a seach but couldn't find anything on it. My problem is that I just got my new 30gb drive to upgrade it, but I don't want to void my waranty in case it's my unit that is bad. I figure if there is a know bug in 1.02, I can probably test it for a few days, and feel confortable upgrading it. If not, I should probably wait a month or so to make sure it doesn't lock up with 1.03.

Agggh, I want to put in my new drive now... must resist. How much longer can I live with my A-J music?

I can't recall 1.02 lockup bug. I don't suppose you were able to check the serial output at the time of lockup?

BTW, 1.03 is supposed to differ from 1.02 only in tuner support.

In 4 month of running 1.03, I have had only one lock-up. This was several weeks ago.
