First Question: Is there any way I can make the emplode program automatically upload new files on my computer to the Rio? It would also have to put the links in the right folders on the Rio because I have each artist in a separate folder.

Second Question: When I play a playlist on the Rio it will stop at the end of that playlist. How can I make it automatically continue on to the next playlist?

I don't know about Emplode, but jEmplode will allow you to drag-n-drop a directory and it will recurse through the folders and skip duplicates -- This is not _exactly_ what you want, but as long as your directories stay the same, it should roughly approximate it (i.e. any new songs would be added while the ones that are already there will be skipped). It will neither update modified songs nor will it delete songs that you have since deleted on your PC.

1) Tag the playlist as "automatically repeat" in emplode.

2) (version 2.0 of the software and later only) Activate the repeat feature using the repeat button on the remote control.

That'll just make it repeat the same playlist, not go to the next one. Or is there a feature I'm missing somewhere?

IIRC, once the empeg is playing a list of files it has no knowledge where they came from, therefore the concept of a 'next playlist' isn't valid (what is the next playlist if you're playing the result of a search, or the entire content of the player?)

The closest thing to this is to manually go into the playlist menu and then hold the bottom button; this will warp you to where you last made a select in the playlist hierarchy, allow you to move to the 'next' list manually.

how does de-shuffle around work then?

(sorry, this is nearly the same as the post in
"Search track... play rest of album")

The only way is either by playing the parent playlist in the first place, or by appending additional playlists once the first one is playing.
