I recently replaced my 10gb drive with a 30gb drive. Currently all of my mp3's on my PC take up about 20gb. I installed the 2.0 b11 firmware, and emplode software. After I uploaded about 12gb (according to windows), of mp3's, emplode says I have no more space. Emplode now says: Est. Free Space 243MB, Capacity 27.8GB.

I may try going back to 1.3. Is it possible that my upgrade did not go as well as I thought? Emplode is reporting the right capacity, so it doesn't seem likely. Any ideas? Thanks.

You probably have M3U files in those folders and you are uploading every song twice.

FAQ entry is here.

Did you drop entire directories (or evrything at once)? Do you have .m3u files in those directories?

IIRC emplode will interpret m3u files and load the file once evrytime it's mentioned in a m3u, as well as due to it's existance as a mp3 file.

Edit: Oh well, no shame in being beaten by the Master...

Yep, you guys are right! I dropped the entire artist directories, that contain a sub dir for each album, and each album dir has all the tracks, and a m3u list of all the tracks. The only problem now is I can't just drop the artist directories, without going back in and deleting the m3u duplicates. But at least I have my disk space back.

Thanks! You guys rock.

Yes you can drop your artist directories. Simply disable the "import m3u" files option in Emplode. I will add this to the corresponding FAQ entries now.
