Just thought I'd post that I saw SSI's new in dash mp3 player. I wonder how much they plan on selling these units. I'd probably pick up one just to see how it works for a while.

http://www.neomp3.com.tw/index1.htm

It has it's +'s and -'s.
Has USB, laptop hard drive, accepts all format's of files for use as a portable hd, subwoofer out, aux in, BUILT IN TUNER! I would guess a 30gb model would be around $400.

You are thinking of another one (Neo 5100) that had a CD player as well as hard drive. This is interesting.

But they don't give us hungry for these products.

It could be coool if we could see more pictures of the Display and and the back of the player to see connectors etc.

From what I remember the display on the Neo 5100 was the same as the Neo25 (Neo Jukebox). It is probably the same with this unit.

AFAICR, see the neo portable to see it in action. The display was the same & worked the same way in terms of content, fonts, etc.

Hugo, they can connect the Neo to an HDTV set. People will have to realise it's the SOFTWARE that makes the biggest difference in the end. And I don't see anyone touching the empeg software any time soon. Except of course another empeg product.

Another company (xeenon) were advertising a similar product to the 5100 (even had the same product code) a cople of years ago!

I got the details from their website, pictures and everything, but they told me it was only a prototype and was never put into production!

I've had a NEO35 for ages now, used to have it installed in one of my old cars, it's a tidy piece of kit, but let down a little by it's depth making it extremely difficult to fit into the majority of car dashboards!

Worked well - problem free, just difficult to install!!!!!

As for the Empeg - well what can i say, well designed product all around, best purchase I've made in a long time!!!!
