I'd like to be able to control the order albums are listed in playlists.

My playlist looks something like:

Root
----Genre
--------Artist
------------Album 3
------------Album 1
------------Album 2
.. etc.

I want some control over the order the albums are listed - is this possible?

[Apologies, this is so fundamental I know it must have been asked/answered before but I'm damned if I can find anything anything].

Cheers,
Rue

FAQ entry is here.

This applies to playlists as well as songs. I'll add that statement if it's not there already.

Tony,

Doh, I am appropriately humbled by your FAQ'ing

Alt-dragging has sorted things out in Emplode but the player lists albums alphabetically i.e.

Emplode lists:
->Playlists->Rock->Rush->Rush, Caress Of Steel, A Farewell To Kings [etc]

Empeg lists:
-> Playlists->Rock->Rush->A Farewell To Kings, A Show Of Hands, Caress Of Steel [etc]

I'm sure this is another no-brainer on my part but I can't see what I'm doing wrong, any ideas?

Cheers,
Rue

The alphabetical on-player menu sorting is a selectable feature in the "Configure player" screen in emplode 2.0 and later.

Guess I'll update the FAQ entry even more.

Tony,

That worked great - thanks. I don't remember checking the 'Sort playlist by menu title' option but please don't hold me to that one

Right, off to find the FAQ item about why the online help doesn't work in my installed Emplode (gotta be another case of RTFM or is it RTFFAQ <g>).

Thanks,
Rue

You didn't check it, it's on by default... and the help doesn't work because they left it out of the recent beta... i think on accident. =]

I'm a newbie and maybe the online help would be beneficial, would it likely work if I installed an earlier version and then re-installed 2.0b11 again?

Ya know... i never checked if it was there in earlier betas... but i don't think it was. Even if so downgrading then upgrading wouldn't make it work... as i've installed every beta, and it's not there on my b11 install. Anyone else know the answer to that one?

I think I remember in a post from one of then empeg guys that they removed it on purpose because they wanted to wait to create it until they had a final release, since so much gets changed in the betas

Nope, we removed it because it mentioned functionality that (at that point) wasn't for public release -- to wit, Rio Central support.

It should have been included in b11, but Mike forgot.
