I commented on this in parens down inside of a thread, but Tony asked me to post about it -- the new jEmplode supports layered soup playlists. The only one I have right now is Artist=>Album. I think in one of the upcoming releases I'll allow users to define their own (a format like "artist, year, album" or something like that).

Snag it at www.jempeg.org

just a minor suggestion... could you somehow number the iterations when you add features? jemplode2b11.exe doesn't tell me much when i go to the downloads page to see if there's a newer version than what i'm running.

Excellent work, once again though. Nested Soups! Yaya.

Actually, the EXE isn't the new one, Loren. His latest improvements are only in the loose prerelease JAR files found at www.jempeg.org (it's the red link).

In fact, I wish he'd just name those JAR files the same as the real one so I wouln'd have to rename it every time I download it.

AHHHH! I was wondering why i couldn't find the nested albums. I knew that to... *smacks self silly*

Thanks Tony.

YES. That nested view is sweet. Me Likey. Now if we could just get that on the Reciever... but that's for another forum.

Okay, one weirdness you might already be aware of... lowercase sorts below uppercase in the soup view. Or would that be expected behavior...

Tony already responded, but basically, since this is just a prerelease, I don't really bother versioning it .... Maybe I'll put the "last updated" date above it or something.

Almost - accented characters sort after 'z'. My locale is en_GB; other Java apps sort accented letters immediately after the unadorned letter. I guess you have a Collator with the wrong strength setting. Somewhere, I suggested using a custom collator to ignore leading "The" like the player does when presenting search results.

I haven't written the custom collator, but the latest version now uses the locale collator. I forgot that there are two different sort routines (one for sorting the soup views and another for sorting the right hand panel) ... I had used a collator in the soup, but not in the playlist table view.

I've never done a custom Collator (in fact, this is the first time I've even looked at Collators in Java), but I'll take a look at writing one.
