Hugo,
My pathetically small brain has come up with this small offering:

We have decided to produce the following T Shirt design:
empeg logo on the front Penguin on the back with the caption "Penguins like ICE"
This will be the company shirt for Comdex, but keep the suggestions coming - we'll definitely make some more shirts soon.

This is not really on-topic, but you should all remember that the empeg can 'only' have about 360 CD's on it. At least if we hypothesise that there's 55 minutes of music average on a CD, that you are using 128Kb/sec compression, and a 20Gig unit. If we say 70 minutes of music per CD that number falls to a 'meager' 285 CD's......

I make it 372 CD's at 55mins per CD on 20Gb (1Mb/min).
It makes more sense to consider hours of music, or singles, as many albums will contain tracks that you don't want.

Rob, this sounds nice. Where can I buy this T-shirt? Also, I would like a tiny sticker for my laptop saying "My other Linux is an Empeg".

The shirts we made up for Comdex were all used or given away, however we are putting together a collection of merchandise that will become available in the new year.

Are the t-shirts Year 2000 compatible?

Any new updates on this?
(See what happens when someone says they know the longest thread, and I go back to look, and manage to hit some old ones back up top? :-)

Wow, this thread is from before I started reading this BBS on a regular basis. I have but one thing to say.
I WANT AN EMPEG SHIRT!
Maybe... Front: O-Scope or funnelweb style graphic Back: Empeg. Analog is ordinary.

This is something which we have made progress with, but which has been put on the back burner due to more pressing issues. I'd like to get a small range of merchandise online within a few weeks - maybe 2 or 3 shirts, and a selection of cool branded gadgets.

I can do you an embroidered empeg teeshirt anytime, likewise an empeg monster mug with logo. I suspect I'm stepping on Rob's/Steve's toes here, though... One of the few remaining Mk1 owners... #00015

My ideal Empeg shirt, FWIW:
front: small, discreet blue empeg logo
rear: EMP3G as UK licence plate (the right font and everything -- is that legal?) with "My other Unix machine is a car stereo" underneath

Can you do those to order? I mean, could you do an embroidered t-shirt with the empeg logo with my serial number neatly tucked in underneath? Or would you have to get them made in significant numbers? A personalised empeg t-shirt/mug would be cool

Sorry if they're incoherent, I'm pissed... "My car runs Linux" "25 days of continuous music... Unless you stop for Gas." "CD Changers Suck" "Is your car open-source? Mine is." front "empeg - MP3 playback for your Car has Arrived" back "empeg: the Linux-based DJ for your Car" "If you don't have an empeg, you're just swapping discs"

boring:)
In reply to:
"25 days of continuous music... Unless you stop for Gas."
Too wordy; hard to see on a t-shirt
In reply to:
CD Changers Suck"
hmm.
In reply to:
Is your car open-source? Mine is." front "empeg - MP3 playback for your Car has Arrived" back
...but empeg's player software isn't open-sourced...
In reply to:
"empeg: the Linux-based DJ for your Car
that's kinda cool..
In reply to:

that's kinda cooler...
Personally though, I would want a plain shirt w/ a small empeg logo on the front, and a waterbrushed-shiney-eye-candy larger empeg logo on the back... -mark
MK2: 36gb Tivo: 90gb CPU: 120gb ...I think drive manufacturers love me!

Nope, We can customise them to your taste with minimal effort - putting your serial number on in the colour and font of your choice would be simple. No problem with the quantity - you don't have to order in bulk Mugs we can get done locally with some degree of cusotmisation, but the one I had done had the old logo only. I'd have to ask if we could get extra things done but that shouldn't be too difficult. One of the few remaining Mk1 owners... #00015

Done (in about 5 minutes) Maybe I should think about commercialising this.... One of the few remaining Mk1 owners... #00015
