Kudos to Mark -- He added in kernel support for this really quickly ... You can now upload and download Startup animations to the Empeg. (I also added background painting with the right mouse button for Yang).

yay! it works. I've attached my first animation... the default first animation for everything.... the bouncing ball. I'm getting that weird bit of pixels on the right of the frame at the end of the animation on my empeg... but otherwise... it works! Thanks guys!

[edit: you know... now that i look at it... it looks like the frames are offset and wrap to the right side of the screen. You can see the ball start off on the right side and wrap to the left side....

Cool.. Looks great, though I found a couple things..

First off, I can't seem to download/upload/clear the animation.. I know I'm connected to my empeg, but I get the 'must be connected to a hijacked player' message for all three commands. I'm using the latest version of Hijack (242) and connecting via ethernet..

Second, the background color is only used when doing a paint or a brush operation.. Fill and Text always use the foreground color.

[Edit: I don't mean to be a bother, but it would also be helpful, if the directory that the Open and Save As defaulted to was remembered, or defaulted to the directory that JEmplode was run from.. Starting up from my user directory isn't all that useful IMO.. ]

you know what would ROCK? The ability to select and move pixels with a selection box. Man that would be cool.

Do you have "Use Hijack when Possible" checked in your Tools.. Options?

And you're right about Fill and Text ... I can fix the Fill button, but the text button is kind of tricky.

I'll take a look at the file dialog.

Ahh, that was it.. Might want to put that into the error message.

I'm getting the same thing with your animation.. I'll try making my own and see if it's just that one.. Well.. I ran into the 'smaller animation not getting recognized' problem.. I uploaded Loren's animation, then cleared it, then uploaded a shorter one (like 5 frames or so).. reboot and it doesn't think it has an animation..

I've figured it out. See postings under the JEmplode v25 thread. Let's continue this discussion on that newer thread.

Cheers.
