Ok. Orders have been just consistent enough for me to keep making them..... IF they keep up, which up until this past week they were.

So, In an effort to keep them up how many would be interested in new colors?

Some I have found, in addition to what I already offer here is:
Purple
Yellow
Amber
and possibly a lighter red (I haven't seen a sample yet)

Well? Anyone interested?

If you could match the blue of late model VWs you'd get my cash!

I have been asked that so many times, but unfortunately I do not have access to nor the time to find most of these cars you guys are talking about.

If I get responses then I will get the material, make some out of each color and post them.

Not likely considering the response I'm getting so far.
I'd need at least 20 people that will order them or the lenses I'm offering now to stabilize to at least 5-10 a week, neither of which is looking like will happen.

We'll see.

Oh well. Looks like it'll be coming to an end I guess.

I'm cutting a deal with Tony to Include mine with the others in the comparison and he's gonna make me a page or two to use at my own site for ordering & such. Maybe like a mini web store for them. If I can figure out how to make the rest of it look respectable enough.
When and if I get that done maybe I can get included with the links at the top of this BBS along with Riocar and Hijack and them.
At any rate it's not looking good at the moment.

Is it the lead time on special ordering materials that is the problem? Maybe you could wait till you have a batch of people wanting them and run these in batches instead of 1 or 2 at a time.

OT: Do you know of any shops that do cnc glass etching? I have a friend that is interested in that sort of thing.

No. It's the amount of people that will order in order to justify my time anymore.

No I don't but I do make vinyl graphics and we have Glass Etch vinyl which when applied looks like the real thing.

I think once people see it you will get more orders. Maybe you should call the smoked lenes "true green" since they do a good job of matching the "true green interior" in 80% of all cars in the world. It wasn't until I stumbled upon a thread that showed an install with the smoked lens that I knew I wanted one.

Maybe Tony can also include one in the Lens Comparison Chart.

I also think you deserve a post in the Announcements forum once your page is set up. Maybe you could pay off Paul w. a lens too.

I think that after I get the comparison chart up and we link your order site it from the top of the page here, then you'll get a lot more orders.

I will do the photography and set up the pages as soon as possible after I get the lenses. Hopefully you will get enough response to justify your time. I think it's really great that you offer this service for alternate lenses, and having options like this is what makes owning the empeg so worthwhile.

I like the idea of the lighter red. I have the "red" red from the Sonic Blue store, via my friend Mafisto. But it's not a great match for the orange in my dash. Good, but not great. And since it's not actually my own piece, but that he gave it to me, I wouldn't mind picking up my own.

In simpler terms, if you had a "lighter red" that came out to be orange on the display (less red and more bright than the current kit), I'd be in FOR SURE.

Anyone else interested?
