Could you be a little more descriptive of what's happening?

Well, based on that very sketchy description, my wild guess is that he's got this problem.

sorry about the very breif discription.

Last night my empeg and I went to my friends house. I was trying to show it off. Installed EMPLODE on their computer. Every time I tried to load the players database it would get an error at getting visuals. The error was something like 0x8 which means an API win32 error.

Their computer has alot of garbage installed. I was trying to figure out a work around.

I took my empeg home and it works a ok here.

The error was something like 0x8 which means an API win32 error.

<pedantic>
No it doesn't. The 0x8 simply means that it was an error. It's only a Win32 error if the number begins 0x8007, 0x8008 or 0x8000. In particular, if it begins 0x8004, then it's an emplode error.
</pedantic>

Moreover, the rest of the numbers (and a complete description of the error message) are helpful when attempting to diagnose the problem. We don't come up with these complicated numbers/messages for fun, you know .

However, it sounds like you might have the problem mentioned in the FAQ.

No. What I mean is that the error is generated by emplode. What is the exact number? What is the exact message?

Okay, so I'm wrong, then.

Just for the heck of it, try a re-install of the ".upgrade" file (making sure it's the right one and re-downloading it using GetRight if necessary) from scratch. See if the error goes away.

is this an active problem that you would like to be fixed?
if so then you should recreate the problem and post details and error numbers so that people on this board are able to help you.
Thanks
