I have decided to sell my Mark I empeg on eBay. It is used but in excelent condition, and still has a warranty left on it. The auction is at http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=342524134

I'm waiting for the Mark II so I can install it in my car again, since the car I had the Mark I in died last week.

My auction ended earlier today with ccorbin being sniped by someone else. It was rather interesting to watch the final moments when the price shot up to $905.01. Overall I am happy with the price it sold with, and hopefully will be able to deal with listening to Paul's Infinity Mix off my laptop until the MK II shows up on my doorstep. (Or live with *shutter* one CD or the repeating radio).

Boy sniped is right. I couldn't type fast enough to counter his bids. Arghhhhhhhhhhhh! I almost cried when it was all over. I just sat and drooled on myself for about an hour. :)

I found another chance locally here though, so I might be OK.

Should someone prepair the straigt jacket for you now? I just watched the other auction, and saw someone else win it again. Theres one left on eBay right now, hopefully that one will be yours.

Don't feel bad. Mine's been up for 9 days and just now FINALLY hit the reserve of 800. I'm not expecting much out of this one. 8)

Just wait for the last few mins. It will probably jump quite a bit more.

Just wait till the last 2 minutes of the auction. It'll jump $100 bucks. You got enough bidders going it's goona be war at the end.

What I don't get is that were getting only days away from the MKII's coming out. And the closer we get to not having to wait for a new one, the more expensive the MKI's are goin for.

I'll be there for the end of your auction - but I'm gettin to the point where I can wait the 4 weeks for a new one if needed.

Good Luck!

War was right. It went all the way up to $980 in the last few moments. It was up to $910 30 mins before it ended, a bid higher then my ending one.

Heh, I was hitting reload the whole time... It jumped from 910 to 980 in like 3 minutes. Pretty exciting stuff.

Turns out I know the guy I'm selling it to also, so expect to see him on the forums soon. 8)

Heh yeah, you were the guy that almost got it out from under him.

Ebay is stupid the way they end auctions like that. It should be where if someone bids, it should extend the auction for 5 minutes or something. To give the maximum amount of time for bidding.

Anyway, if for some reason this dude doesn't come through with buying it, I know how to get ahold of you if you're still interested.

...but then there wouldn't be that sense of urgency that makes people bid too much -- like "Hm, I have to bid MORE in the next TEN SECONDS if I want this..."

Maybe not... I have the feeling that there are going to be a lot of Mark I's for sale in the next few weeks as the Mark II begins shipping. I hereby fearlessly predict that there will be Mark I empegs selling for under $500 by the end of the summer.

If they'll be selling for that little, I'll be buying. Let's see - one for the orrice and several dotted around the house.

Hmmmmmm.

I like my original empeg. I think it will be a collectors' item in years to come. I'll be buying a mark 2 but definitely NOT selling my mark 1. Except for the right price of course.
