I'm a newbe and need some advice on an amp(s). I want to stick with my stock speakers for now. I plan on replacing the stock speakers and adding a sub down the road. I have 4X6's in the front and 6X9's in the rear. I want to be able to use the amp that I use for the stock speakers with the new speakers later. So I want to plan for the future. I can’t decide on 25 watt by 4-ch, 50 watt by 4-ch, two 2-channel amps, or a 5 channel. I’m wanting, in the future, 4X6’s rated around 50 watts RMS and the 6X9’s rated around a 100 watts RMS. I have small kids, so I only want 200 watts max going to the sub when I do get one. I’m not worried about band names just yet, I want to get the design down first.

I hope this makes sense!

Thanks in advance

I've had great results with the Kicker 405. It's got a convenient remote sub level control too, and seems to run pretty cold. It's not small, though!

JL audio has an amzing amp called the 500/5 rated as such:

Front Channels:
100 W RMS x 2 @ 1.5 ohm-4 ohm
(11V-14.5V)
Rear Channels:
25 W RMS x 2 @ 1.5 ohm-4 ohm
(11V-14.5V)
Subwoofer Channel:
250 W RMS @ 1.5 ohm-4 ohm
(11V-14.5V)

Another Great Amp, if you are a lil more on a budget is the Alpine MRP-F320 which is 50x4 + 120x1, both will suite you quite nice, the jl is a clean sounded amp, if u want the aduiophile status

Personally I would recommend the following (mainly 'cause it's what I did):
ubid.com is selling factory reconditioned a/d/s amps. I bought a 625x (6x25 watts). I thought the same thing you are probably thinking now: only 25 watts? Let me tell you it sounds incredible! Those 25 watts are quite enough for my (and probably your) install, and the two bridged channels for 50 watts with a JL Audio 10" sub is quite enough.
I have also seen a/d/s amps of higher output on sale through ubid. I'm not sure if you would consider an auction site to be an option or not, but I am quite happy with what I bought. Furthermore, I have heard nothing but good things about a/d/s, and the prices you can get them through Ubid are crazy.

No idea what it stands for. The amps that they're selling on Ubid don't seem to be listed on their web site.

Edit: Actually, it looks like it stands for ``Analog and Digital Systems''.

True, the amps they are currently selling are not on their web site. I have seen a few that were listed there for sale on Ubid, so it depends on how patient you are.
As for the amps Ubid is selling now, they are older factor reconditioned ones, don't be fooled. The one I got works great, sounds great, and only had one minor flaw: an adjustment was mislabeled.
The website listed above is the correct address. They appear to be a small, very focused shop. Try doing a search here for ads, you might find some other things of interest.

Well... yes and no.

A/D/S is owned by DEI, who also own a few other corporations you might have heard of... like Precision Power Inc, Orion, Clifford (major manufacturer of car alarms), A/C Delco, and a bunch of other major automotive electronic suppliers.
