know how you feel, Mark. Lost (shipped) my Emma three (is it three weeks already) ago to NoQuarter! And the black hole in the dash is hardly comforting! Let's just keep our fingers crossed that the Empeg team can ship in time: June 9 is only 10 days from now. I'm just a tiny bit worried from the fact that the Mark2 that Hugo took to California last week-end didn't have the new face yet. It would be too bad when delivery gets delayed because of the updated looks (I wouldn't mind a Mark1 face anyhow). Rob Schofiel is reasonably sure they are on target. He draws his clues from the fact that they have gone a bit quiet lately, which is usually a sign that Empeg ltd are up to something. Rob/Hugo, is Rob S right? Are you still on target? Any chance that you will be accepting pre-orders from dis-membered members ? Henno ex 00120

I think I remember them mentioning that they're getting them ready to ship, and that they wouldnt' be receiving any faceplates UNTIL they were ready to ship:) -mark

The manufacturer has come up with a chip they can't get (well, the distributor had kept saying it would turn up...then it didn't). They're working on it. Rob's going to look at the first shots from the moulds tomorrow...

"Now wait, everyone, don't panic!"
(background sounds of shouting screaming, shattering glass, sirens, explosions, general anarchy and panic)
(Through megaphone): "Everything is under control! There is no need to panic! Looting will not be tolerated! We have tear gas and we're not afraid to use it! You there, put down the television set!"
(etc...)

I overheard a slight hint of a delay earlier today, from a side of the project I haven't had much involvement with (see Hugo's post). It's not my fault, do you hear me, IT'S NOT MY FAULT! :-)
But.. as far as the faceplate goes, I've spent many, many, ... many ... many hours on the M25 recently to ensure that this meets the deadline. I'm going to the plastic manufacturers tomorrow to witness the first shots get squirted (this is a technical term apparantly) through the mould and I hope to come back with the world's first photos of a Mark 2 fascia! If all goes well I'll get these onto the new web site in time for the launch on Thursday.
We don't get the aluminium handle until Friday, though.

Hey, we just paid for 2000 sets of most of the empeg components up front - believe me, we're more restless than you are :-)
It'll work out fine though!

squirted (this is a technical term apparantly)
Updated Lexicon of Empeg Faceplate Technical Terms:
1) Knobbly Bits (n, pl): The bumps on the Empeg volume knob. See ribbed for her pleasure.
2) Squirted (v): The process by which injection molded plastic is put into the mold. See Hostess Twinkie filling.

Can some1 please tell me where we can purchase the drugs that TFABRIS is on, judging by there effects, they could be in as much demand as the MK2

Unfortunately, no one can be told what drugs tfabris is on. You have to see them for yourself.

So how many of the geeks out there have read The Hitchhiker's Guide to the galaxy?
"In many of the more relaxed civilizations on the Outer Eastern Rim of the Galaxy, the Hitchiker's Guide has already supplanted the great Encyclopedia Galactica as the standard repository of all knowledge and widom, for though it has many omisions and contains much that is apocryphal, or at least wildly inacurate, it scores over the older, more pedestrian work in two respects. First, it is slightly cheaper; and second, it has the words DON'T PANIC inscribed in large friendly letters on its cover."

Of course not! You know how much Empeg Ltd likes to keep their customers and prospective customers in the dark! (I hope you can see the sarcasm in that wink) I'm sure the guys@empeg are more excited about the MkII shipping than dionysus, Henno, and tfabris combined (well, it might be close ). Either way, we'll know just as soon as they know and can tell us.

Tony, Henno, dionysus and you seem to have the same thing in common - you've already got an empeg (or had one till you ebayed it - your own fault ) But I don't have one ( I missed the invitation to order - and I even hadn't enough money at that time - I bite my butt ). So the Mk2 seems to be nearly grabable to me... and I hope that there will be no message posted like ...sorry but delayed... But if so I would wait another non-passing hours or days or weeks Now I have enough money and I won't miss the invitation to order. *winking with a bundle of money to the "guys@empeg"* TeeMcBee

I took my camera with me to do just that, but when I arrived they had already shipped the tool back to the toolmaker for adjustment! I'm visiting again next Friday, so hopefully I'll be able to get some photos then.
