Supposedly there will be a Bay Area meet on May 25th 2002, at The Boat House in San Francisco. But no one has stepped up to organize and run it, and no detailed information about it has been posted. Who's going to do this?

PS: Can't be me, I've got a whole other thing going on that weekend and I'm barely squeezing the meet in.

There must be sombody who's willing to do this... It took long enough to decide on a location, seems a waste if no one shows up.. It shouldn't be that much work to organize... (well, relatively speaking.)

I'd step up, but I've got both CS and and EE finals the day before, so needless to say the only free time i'd have to organize is the night of the 24th. If there's anything I can do the night before or the day of, let me know.

Looking forward to the meet,
Matthew

I'd be willing to organize it for the fact that I was one of the main people pushing it. But theres a problem, I live 1,400 miles away, and also will be in LA up till that morning.

I'll get a sign up sheet on RioCar.org here by the end of today so we can have an idea of who is coming.

Signup sheet

Now to make a friendly viewer for the meet organizer. And I suppose if noone steps up here soon, I'll do it. I just dodn't want the uncertanty of someone coming from far away to do it, but whatever it takes to get it hammered out.

Someone needs to talk to the owner of the place and make sure everything is still cool. Remember that it's on memorial day weekend, we need to make sure no one else stepped up and claimed the place over the last couple months.

By what I saw in the threads about it, someone already had us on their schedule. We just need to call a week ahead of time with an estimation of people so they can staff accordingly.

I will be more than willing to help coordinate this event... I'm currently at the IBM developers conference @ the Moscone Center (San Francisco) and I live about a 1/2 hour away, so I could even do some 'recon' tomorrow...

Cool. Someone should contact The Boat House again and make sure we've still got that afternoon sewn up.
