I'm courious to know if anyone else are experiencing any problems getting mail
from Empeg. I have written a couple of mails, with a direct question regarding my order, and heard nothing back.
Also, I do not always get the posts from this board to my mail account.

There is nothing wrong with my ISP, I think...........

Waiting for my Empeg 5084.

Tommy Eriksen

The problem is that a major part of the usual empeg team are away at Comdex, it looks like poor old (well probably not that old) Rob has been left holding the fort !!
I'm sure the normal prompt and effective service will resume shortly...

If your ISP uses the ORBS open-relay blocking system, then you will not receive e-mail from Empeg. They use PSI.net in the UK which has a bunch of open relays (well, actually, they accept mail from their customers' open relays, but the end result is the same), and so they're on the list.

You may want to ask your ISP to unblock them specifically (the uk.psi.net servers), or use a freemail (such as Yahoo! Mail) for your empeg communications. I had that problem myself just the other day. :)

We have had a problem keeping up this week, although I've tried to ensure that the *urgent* stuff has got prompt attention. At the moment we need to recruit at least one more technically qualified Tech Support person so that it doesn't all land on me when the developers are away. We have the budget, we just haven't found the right person yet.

Things will be back to normal next week after our Comdex venturers return.

Rob

PS Yep, not too old thanks :-)

I thhink that schofiel expressed an interest in working for empeg in one of the bbs postings, but I can't seem to find that thread. He appears to be pretty qualified, judging by his posts.

I have reconfigured our mail system to not use PSINet's mail relay so this should not be an issue any more.

I may not be speaking on behalf of empeg above :-)

Why, thank you for recalling me, kind sir..

taanstaafl, you have got one heck of a good memory. What a compliment - I get a job reference in advance!

Well then Rob, what do you think? Curiously, I may well have to visit Cambridge over Christmas....
