I've just installed chacoalgray99's XML stuff into my office player and I've been very impressed. The only problem is that I can't get the FTP page to work, neither does it tell me what song is currently playing. Is there something I'm not doing? I've got everything else going. I've looked in the FAQ and have drawn a blank in the hijack section (which I thought it would be under).

Any help would be appreciated.

I'd posted a similar issue... my FTP is locked out... I didn't look but now that you mention it I can't see whats currently playing either. Whats happening I think is the FTP server needs a password but I haven't a clue how to fix it. Mine works fine in home mode (which via the ini, I never set passwords or security of any kind) just not work mode (which i'd originally set a password, but removed it), theres probably a way to make the xml stuff pass a password and user to the ftp server but beats me how to do it. But the real fix would be figuring out why after you remove your security setting in the ini it continues to ask for a password. At least thats my issue.... anyone else having issues like this?

Andy, do you have any passwords or security set in your .ini file?

Ooops just checked even in home mode when the FTP isn't locked it still doesn't show the now playing thingie

On my system, I had to add the empeg to my Internet Explorer "TRUSTED SITES" list before FTP would work correctly. Also, I needed to have the Internet Explorer browser enhancements for FTP installed.

OK... been playing around with my ini file... I completely removed my @work settings in my ini.. synched.. rebooted.. then put the settings back and the FTP part works great. Still no "now playing" though.

Tony, are you getting anything in the "now playing" section? First I guess I should ask if your using the XML pages for your player?

The "now playing" feature requires that you do:

[output]
notify=1

in the config.ini, I thought we already covered this.

I currently do not have that entry in there, so I don't get a now-playing display. But when I did have it in there, I did get a proper now-playing display.

I guess we had already covered this , didn't see the other post til it was too late. Sorry Tony. But that fixed it.... now I have to figure out why people on our .8 segment can't view playlists.... (I added the gateway back but that didn't seem to help) basically they can get to the page but when they try to view the playlists the page spits out errors...

but when they try to view the playlists the page spits out errors...

- Are they running recent browsers?

- Are they on the same subnet?

- Is there a limit to the number of simultaneous connections Hijack will support?

IE 5
Not the same subnet...
and it's only 2 or 3 people.
I'm not too worried about it, but it worked with just the default Hijack web interface. It's a little strange

Assuming that IE5 supports all the XML stuff (not sure if it does or not)...

If you're on a different subnet, they might need to add the player to their "trusted sites" list for the Javascript and Java programs to run correctly. Don't know what their security settings are.

Check the page where you downloaded the files for the XML web server. You need either IE6 or IE5.5 and XML Parser or Mozilla. IE5.5 doesn't support XML.

AHA, yeah! Now I remember. You do need that XML stuff for IE. I remember having to download it now.
