Yamaha said they're releasing an announcement in march. Anybody heard anything about this? I would love to be able to burn images, literally, onto a CD rom.

I've been told we're getting two here at MusicMatch to test with, although I think they're both going to our Florida office (that's where the Burner development is).

If I can convince them to send some test ones this way, I'll post pics. Although I was told that some of the stories on the press release included photos, so maybe somebody here can find one.

That's neat... I'd like to use something like that to put information about CDs that I burn on the disc.

For those who didn't see the Slashdot post, here's a link with a few pictures:

http://www.watch.impress.co.jp/akiba/hotline/20020622/etc_disctat2.html

Somewhat disappointing is this fact: The drive burns the images only in unused areas of the CD. So, if you're like me and fill your CD-Rs completely, then the picture feature is useless.

Actually I would love to have this for doing backups, incremental backups, etc. Have it automatically "burn" a datestamp would be the best!
