Let's see what the insurance can do and if anyone who have had theirs stolen as well can chime in as to how the insurace took care of them as far as replacement or reimbursement, thanks ahead of time.

I did do a swell job on the install and the sled is a bit beat up but it was still intact. Not sure what the hell the bastards that took it will do with one but just a heads up in case anyone runs into a sledless EMPEG and please PM me.

Damn man... sorry to hear of your loss. I had mine stolen about a month ago and it was real rough driving around in my car without my empeg..

As for my insurance, i just faxed them the email receipt I got from sonicblue when i ordered the unit. They just cut me a check for what i paid for it. Granted you can't get an empeg at that price anymore (firesale).. but its better than nothing.

I agree though, I can't go back to CDs and luckily I was able to obtain a unit from a very kind member from this forum.

As for the rest of you that leave your empeg in the car, let this be another example.. don't ever leave it in the car...

Look around the area it got stolen. I remember hearing someone found theirs in a trash can i think. when the dumbass theif can't figure out what it is he may just ditch it.

I'd go with [censored]'s advise.
These thieves are usually looking for whatever will make them some quick cash. If they cant sell it because they have no idea what it is, chances are they will get rid of it.
Just hope it's still in "ok" condition.

I understand and feel your pain. Mine came about as close as one can get to being stolen without me actually losing it. My house was broken in to, my empeg on my computer desk while my car was in the shop. I came home to find my house a wreck, and my empeg on my bedroom floor. The thief picked it up.. unplugged it.. probably could not figure out what it was and dropped it. It is fine but it makes me sick that he held it in his hands and almost walked out with it.
