I've posted about this before, but I still haven't been able to find the product I need. I also couldn't find the last thread on the subject.

I need a PCI card that has headers for USB ports that are already mounted in my case. I'm pretty sure that in my previous thread about this, Rob suggested this. However, besides the fact that it's a Soyo, it doesn't appear to be sold anywhere, and this has been the case since I last asked. I contacted the company, but that wasn't any help.

Does anyone know where I can find another card like this, or where I can buy this card?

I'm still puzzled by the requirement to expose the existing USB ports on a PCI card. Why don't you just get a PCI card with 4 new USB ports ?

Presumably you're talking about one of those motherboards where it has, e.g, 5 USB ports, but only two of them are on the ATX panel, and the others are just headers on the motherboard?

My Asus board came with this kind of thing, but it included the relevant thingummy that you screw into a spare gap at the back (i.e. into the hole in the case, not actually into a slot on the board). It's effectively just a piece of metal with some ribbon cable attached to it.

So, assuming that this is what we're talking about, what kind of motherboard is it? Do they sell spare ones?

Alternatively, as andy says, USB 2.0 cards are relatively cheap, so you could just give up on the internal ones.

There is one here but it's in the UK. It probably would just be easier to use a proper USB2.0 PCI card as you're going to taking up a slot anyway.

Ebay... if your looking for something with usb headers (not jacks) just do a search for "USB PCI 2.0 header" if you want something internal that has actual usb jacks, omit the header part in your search. Theres literally thousands of cards.

Many motherboards also have internal USB headers, and newer (mini)ATX cases provide internal cables & connectors for FRONT PANEL USB access via those headers.

Presumably what Roger wants, and me too, are those cable/connector assemblies, not yet another set of bloody useless rear-panel ports!

Nah, not me. I've already got the relevant doodad for my (Asus) Linux box. My (Windows XP) ShuttleX box has plenty of USB ports on it -- and I use a USB hub anyway, because most of my USB gear (printer, scanner, ...) is on the shelf behind me.

Something from Belkin (an F5U021 according to the sticker on the bottom). Works fine. It's only USB 1.1, though.

As was mentioned, I want a card like this for the ports and cables that already exist in my case. Here's the math:

ASUS A7N8X mobo w/ 4 rear onboard USB 2.0 ports

1 header on the motherboard for 2 case-mounted USB 2.0 ports

4 actual case ports

6 working ports and 2 dead ones

I simply want to make use of the ports I have on the front of my case. However, there are several solutions listed in this thread, suprisingly. I did all kinds of searches, but wasn't successful. Well, I guess that's why this board is so great! I'd actually prefer something that only had internal headers, but I'll take the extra ones too, if I must.

By the way, I have that same Belkin USB hub, and it works great for me. Got it at Best Buy for $5 after rebate
