I've decided that it's time for the rinky-dink computer speakers to go. I've got a pair of Paradigm 2-way speakers in the closet (from my wife's old system) which would be great with the computer. The trick is that I don't have space for a full-sized receiver. I want something smaller. I'm pondering the Parasound Zamp, which is $300, but it would be nice to find something similar for less money (or, even better, something using class-D amps so I can safely allow things to pile on top of the amp without having heat worries).

A friend of mine turned me onto this Sonic Impact T-Amp thing. For $25, at Amazon (plus another $24 for a power supply), you get a 15W stereo class-D amp that seems to impress the audiophiles no end. Not bad, eh?
