BillB member Registered: 13/04/2000 Posts: 134 Loc: Orlando, FL USA	In this case, this isn't empeg related, but it's possible that it could apply at some point - Is there a reasonable way to determine what options a kernel was compiled with? I need to recompile, but I don't want to leave anything important out, and I'm not too familiar with the specific platform (sparc, in case it matters). Thanks, Bill B. SuperQ addict Registered: 13/06/2000 Posts: 429 Loc: Berlin, DE	not normaly, there is a nice patch that VA linux has that will keep a copy of the .config file that was used to build a kernel image, gziped up, and available via /proc/config.gz, but that's the only way I've ever seen 12gig red mk2 -- 080000125 _________________________ 80gig red mk2 -- 080000125 (No, I don't actually hate Alan Cox)

Roger carpal tunnel Registered: 18/01/2000 Posts: 5682 Loc: London, UK	Debian generally keeps a copy of the config file for the current kernel in /boot, IIRC -- as long as you installed a stock kernel .deb, or used make-kpkg to build a custom one.
