Still not a bad idea, as emptool should get about 2.5Gb/hr (700K/sec) over ethernet. FTP, or tar+netcat, were scarcely faster in my tests. Having said that, I do use tar+netcat when I repopulate my 20Gb player from scratch, as it's restartable if any of the alpha player code I tend to use falls over.
