I found that the antenna connector didn't screw up tight enough, and the metal shield in the connector wasn't touching the screen clamp causing the connection to be broken and the reception to be lost. I removed the socket and soldered the coax directly to the aerial plug and taped it up, works better. I am still experiencing a problem with reception where the quality of the bass and treble varies up and down over short periods of time. The signal meter shows good signal and the antenna is brand new and has a good ground. There are no shorts between the centre and screen either. Does anyone else have this problem? Oli.
