It is possible for it to read correctly at boot, especially if it is a loose connection or intermittent problem.

It looks like both drives were found without any problem, so it might be a connection problem or just a bad database / data issues. Try doing the manual FSCK and database rebuild mentioned above. It might be worthwhile to capture the results of these as well, and post them here if anything looks strange.
