I've been meaning to ask Mark, a program like Darik's Boot and Nuke (DBAN), which contains several levels of security erasing, is that comparable to a low-level format? Or still not exactly the same and comparable to the tool Doug bought? (if it is, it might be a good alternative for Doug as well since it's easy to set up and does a pretty good job -erasing disks that is- in my experience)
