The other thing you might try (I will if I get a chance) is   This works for outputting a space with a working draft XSLT compliant parser. In fact, I think it was the only way to make that work in IE5 5/5 w/MSXML2, so it might be better for Mozilla. If that works, everyone saves requests for that little gif.

I know, not a big deal, but using blank gifs for layout and display is so, 1997.
