I'm guessing that remote was from a different product in the Rio line, and that its code set won't work by default on the Rio Car players. Some futzing with the ir translations in Hijack would make it work, I'm sure, but like Sven said, you still wouldn't be able to do alphanumeric searches with it (primary reason to own a remote). My spare doesn't have one; I got the remoteless unit from TTony. On the other hand I already had a spare remote, but I could see cases where you'd want to leave a remote in your office or something, and one in your car, and one doesn't sit well in 2 places.
