The Set Playlist order dialog allows you to set the order of tracks independently of the view order - it defaults to the current view order, however.

The "also set view order" check box allows you to sort the playlist, and then apply that sort order to the view.

If you can think of ways that that feature could be improved (other than the speed - I'm working on it), let me know.
