I've been with Speakeasy for a few years. They had a rough period when they took on too many subscribers but, other then that, have been excellent. I've had almost no downtime that was their fault in the past 18 months. They have lots of local POP's which keeps latency down. I get <15 ms pings to my gateway. Also they have a great system for keeping track of the install process which always seems to be an adventure with DSL.
The biggest problem with Speakeasy is their usenet service. For a long time it was pretty much useless for binaries. Now it's decent but they only give you 1 gig a month. You can pay for more but it's not any better than an independent commercial usenet service.
