Ha, thanks anyway! No, it wasn't an ATI problem. I did have a problem with low volume levels on my original AIW Radeon, but now that I installed the new (old) soundcard, I have to keep the line input volume pretty low so it won't distort! Needless to say I was pretty suprised when my problems were solved by installing a 5+ year old, second party sound card that came with a computer from my father's office. The sound quality is even better now.

I looked into updating the Catlyst software, but decided not to since the version number difference was so small. But thanks for checking in No need to read the rest of the thread
