It's a one-disc player.

No, until now it worked great. I think it froze one or two times since I use it (18 months), but no audio quality degradation or such; I reapplied 2.0beta13, then 2.0final and I also tried different HiJack versions but still the same.
Wa I write, it's been playing music since 25 minutes without problems (it's not connected to the PC so I can't see what the serial port is putting out, but I guess it's okay); but before that I had to unplug the cord at least 3 times.

Software running should be empire and empacman; do you think I should temporarily delete them just to see what happens? Still, I think it would be strange if it worked because both programs are running since august last year.

I'm pretty clueless...
