It's a shame John didn't make it, as when he is there, a small group of people end up getting him to talk for many more hours after the official keynote ends. For anyone with even a tiny interest in game development, talking to him is a great experience. I still remember my followup question about color calibration for games, and his response being "Well, one time I did make a really accurate tool for users to go through, but it was so complex, almost noone in the office could use it."
