I am afraid your estimate of 1-2£ is not in the ballpark -- heck, it's not even in the same game. You can find more about these extraordinarily expensive connectors here but you'll have to wade through quite a few posts to put it all together.

Suffice it to day, that is about a $60 connector, about 40--50 times more expensive than you had hoped. Sorry if I ruined your day... :-(
