I meant to respond to that as well: yes, in every instance yes.

I've never had a single problem with this. The only problem with recording first run shows is when networks are lazy. Comedy Central is infuriating in this regard. It is impossible to record the Daily Show in this manner, because they appear to almost randomly supply information for their episodes.
