Well, I suppose it's the highest resolution VESA mode for single link DVI. There are othe non-VESA modes and also modes with reduce blanking interval at higher resolutions. I don't know why I forgot about that. It's entirely possible the KVM will work with those modes as well. Apple's 1920x1200 displays all work this way for example.
