Think of the printout as a multi-thousand line external display for the empeg, compared with the single-line display used by the playlist programmer in the software. And the external display is much more readable in bright light, too.

EDIT: The empeg software interface is really good when one *knows* what they want to listen to. But it's not great for browsing the collection to "find something suitable".
