I also saw that article today about them upping their throttling threshold to 22GB. Interesting.

My intent is to stick with AT&T for the time being, so the 2 year contract doesn't bother me in this case. I was with T-Mobile when I first arrived in Seattle and had coverage problems which were solved when I switched to AT&T, so I'm happy to stick with them for now. Though I'm aware that T-Mobile has improved their coverage recently and that might not apply any more.

I've never had problems when traveling out of the country with AT&T, I always call ahead of the trip and get a temporary roaming thingy set up, and so I'm pretty happy in those cases.
