It always makes me smile when I see a post on MP3.com from someone who has worked out exactly how to build their own in-car player for just a few dollars. They know exactly what speed processor they're going to use, and how much memory and disk space. Then they ask for help with a few "little" details, like how to power the thing, or write software for it. You have to wonder what grasp they have on the issues when they admit that they "don't know anything about voltages and stuff". It's OK though, because they know exactly which SoundBlaster to use to get "great quality audio" out of it.
