Apropos a Paypal tangent in another thread comes this bit of news.

So, if I gave eBay a checking account number to be a seller, does Paypal get it now? (rhetorical question, sort of...). FWIW, after agonizing over whether to give eBay that info, I finally decided to give them a 2nd checking account that is pretty much inactive. I knew there was a reason I kept that account. 'Course most of these accounts aren't free, so that may not be a cost-effective option.
