I couldn't find a way to do this, so I am asking here. Is there a way to disable any high frequency cutoff that occurs in the encoding process when using the LAME encoder with Audiograbber? It doesn't have an option to disable it. I saw somewhere that you can enter "-k" to disable all filtering, but where would that go in Audiograbber?

Well, one simple way is to use Exact Audio Copy instead of Audiograbber, but I hate to bring up religion... ;-P

Actually, you need to use an external encoder such as LAME. When you do this you can pass the engine command-line arguments such as '--alt-preset standard'. I've attached a screen capture. Hope this helps.

Audiograbber?.....

I'll never understand why people, having the posibility to have the best windows ripper (EAC) for free use something substancially worst which is not free.
Would you buy a small car when someone offered you to get a Mercedes for free?...

.....just thinking.... :-)

ah Mario,
That's a bit un-fair, AG is in no way substancially worse than EAC. But lets not talk religion as Ezekiel said.

maczrool, how are you having AG call LAME? internal or external, and with what settings?

I was using the LAME DLL, which didn't have too many options. But, then I saw Ezekiel's post about the external LAME encoder and started playing with that last night. It is definitely better than the DLL, although I did have a little trouble getting the arguments to work at first. I believe I ended up using "%s %d -b 192 -s -F -q0 --lowpass 20" but I'm not sure right now, as I did it on another computer.

I think I tried EAC once and didn't like it. Audiograbber seemed to do what I wanted and I didn't have any problems with it so I spent the $15 or whatever it was. Thanks everyone.

If you haven't tried EAC in a while you should give it another look. The interface was heavily redone and is much improved.

This thing needs it's own guide? I hate it already. The problem I had with EAC before and still have is that everything is so unintuitive to me.

Yeah, I noticed its menus are a bit flickery on my XP professional system.

It is a bitch to set up, but that is why it is so powerful... you can configure the heck out of it. Once you do, all you have to do is his the "mp3" button each time you pop in a CD. That's pretty simple. I paid for AudioGrabber too and still use EAC.

EAC has no issues with WinXP or NT or 2000. All you have to do is install an ASPI driver.
