(Here's hoping that this isn't covered in a FAQ somewhere so that I don't get shot at by tfabris!)

Has anyone given any thought to connecting a laptop usb cdrw to the empeg? Is it technically possible? With the right software, one could then remotely mount the laptop cdrw permanently/semi-permanently and be able to play audio cds, mp3 cds, rip audio cds in the car, copy mp3s or data files to the empeg, burn data/mp3/audio cds. This would be extremely cool!

Why hasn't this been done yet?

One other technical challenge would be to figure out the whole usb docking thing. A loose usb cable that one connects to the empeg before inserting the empeg into the sled would work, for instance.

Look forward to your replies. See if you can beat Tony!

I thought one main purpose of the empeg was to eliminate the reliance on a stack of CD's to listen to music in the car?

Secondly, if you have the music on the empeg it must have been transfered to the empeg from (presumably) your home PC, so you should be able to burn your CD-R(W) in a reclining armchair, eating a large pizza while not risking an accident in the process...
