My roommate just purchased a 2003 Discovery, and he is looking for a good resource of information. Anyone out there know of any online forums that are any good?

I thought that our British friends may have some good leads for info.

Yeah, I know what you mean.
I also read and post to a bunch of Jeep lists as well, and I have yet to come across a system that works as well as this one.

Well, I like phpbb, but I suppose I'm biased, considering I run one. Of course, that's free, so it's tough to compare. There are a few things that I wish this system had that are implemented in phpbb, but overall I think it's fine.

Thanks, I've seen that forum before. It's ok, but not great. More specifically my roommate is looking for more geek-Land Rover stuff. He wants to write some ODB-II software tailored to the Discovery and tweak all sorts of stuff. Problem is, it's next to impossible to find out what all the codes are and what they do. He needs some sort of inside info I guess.

Unless Ford have managed to sort things out now, he wants to get himself a large box and place it on the passenger seat.

The purpose of the box is to store all the bits of plastic that are going to fall off various parts of the car in the next few months...

And an even larger box, with jump leads, a battery pack, every value fuse, a multimeter, any other diagnostic equipment you can get hold off, a relay or two....

.....a pair of wellies and a good thick jacket for walking from breakdowns: If it's anything like my last Range Rover.

Patience is another valuable asset, for trying to complain to the manufacturer.

Oh, and a heavy duty towrope for all those idiots who assume that you only cruise around in bad weather for the opportunity to yank them out of ditches when they've misjudged conditions in the Bavarian sex machine.

A Citroen 2CV is very handy for those days that it doesn't want to co-operate and you're in a hurry. It also copes just as well in snow.

And lastly, if it's like the UK, a non dealership repairer: That way you get things sorted instead of having them returned washed and valeted, but not repaired.

In fairness, the three before, before the last new shape, were great - but I think that Ford still have some work to do.

Spoken to my local Land Rover specialists, who have always looked after me, and they know of no such site or organisation in the UK: Sorry.

Update, as I realised I was passing, I popped in and asked about getting codes: LLOL and SRROTF, blood out of a stone was the general message! Sorry, again.

The weird thing I have noticed about both Disco owners (and Land Rover owners in general come to think of it), is that they will have sorts of problems with the things and then turn around and happily get another one!
Having done this myself, I can vouch for the feeling, but it is still strange.
I'll bet you will get another after this as well.

Does this happen with any other vehicles, other than maybe a Morgan
