Yeah, right...

Mind you, if it were, I think I'd be forced to get quite a few!

I figure I might as well order one and see what happens. I figure the worst that can happen is that they'll charge my credit card for the full amount making me go over my credit limit just enough to not get declined but charge me a fee, then they'll ship me a rio central, and expect me to pay to return it before issuieing a refund on my maxed out credit card. But you've got to take risks in life, right?

Just for the reccord, I don't expect it to go through, but don't want to be the one who gets stuck without a $6.01 rio central when everyone else gets one.

Still $0.01 per piece, and still in stock. However, as always, only shipping within the US/Canada. Flashback memories of the empeg sale 1.5 years ago... Anyone in the US/CA in for a deal to order one for me? (at $0.01/piece not much financial risk, I think)?

Go on, someone go crazy and order 20. I'll pay the shipping to bring one to the UK for myself... plus of course you'll get your cent back (and a few beers into the bargain).

I'm a big spender and ordered 4 of them. If it is the wrong price I don't think that they can charge more than that without notifying us first, they just wouldn't ship it and cancel the order. If I'm wrong then I'm in big trouble and will ship them back.

I just checked my credit card and it has a temporary amount to Sonic Blue for $24.04

I got half way through ordering a couple, and then realised the shipping charge was $12. Screw that!

Okay...

Well, I don't really need one just now, but I ordered 5 just to be safe. If I actually get it for the $30.05 (shipping included), I will be really surprised. I would not argue, but I would be very surprised.

I ordered 5 more, the first 4 are spoken for. They have a limit of 5 so who knows how many I will get if any. I would be willing to ship some over the pond if I have extras. I'll let you know.

Someone please order me one...

I just tried to order a couple, using a friend's US address as the shipping address, but then discovered that the credit card billing address also has to be in the US or Canada. Bugger.

I have to leave now on a short visit, where I won't be able to access the net.
I hope by the time I get back (tomorrow afternoon), somebody will have a Central with my name on it!

To whoever wants to do this : thanks in advance!

Greetings!

I have 5 down - I think I can cover one or two people with that. I really don't think this will work, but if it does...

Edit: okay. All accounted for at this point.

I wonder how many they actually have in stock? You'd think by the numbers we're ordering them that they would all be gone by now. I hope it does work.

Surely once they have accepted the order then its legally binding? Don't you then have a contract with them and they can't say "we've made a mistake, sorry".

Something similar happened with some ipaq's recently on another website. They apparently can decline sale, but then again that was a british site covered by british law. Maybe it's different in the US.

I ordered another 5.

Edit: Maybe someone at Sonic Blue (digital river?) was not happy with the auction / sale of Sonic Blue's assets, and decided to hold their own fire sale?

Surely once they have accepted the order then its legally binding?

There was a case involving this recently with Amazon. The finding was that there's no contract until both parties have agreed. Offering something at a particular price does not constitute acceptance of an offer to buy at that price.

At least in Amazon's case, IIRC, they state (fairly clearly) that there is no contract until they've actually despatched the goods.

So, this is not legally binding. You might get lucky.

Obviously, IANAL and I'm not speaking for SONICblue's estore.
